Hi all,

My lab has a problem with GC-MS (Agilent 8890 GC 7010B MS). We needed to change the column and started with what was written in the manual. However, the leak and restriction test fails whatever we have done!

We have changed ferrules, cut a bit more column, and reinstalled. Also changed the septum and cleaned the golden ring around the liner. We are careful about the vacuum. We installed it exactly as it says in the manual. We called a technician (Agilent) and they couldn't find the problem, either.

What should we do, what can we miss, please let us know if you have any ideas.

Thanks in advance!
Do you have a leak detector/TCD? Might be worth sniffing around the fittings with one of those to see if there's a minute leak somewhere.
