Hoping someone else has come across this issue. We only run in negative mode on an Agilent 6470-QQQ. Our instruments do not hold a calibration. When going to autotune for negative mode, there is a failure for ion 302. This happens on both of our systems. This has happened with multiple lots of tune solution. We can sometimes get it to go away by cleaning the capillary but this is now not solving the issue after completely replacing the capillary. Any feedback is much appreciated.
Recently I had similar issue with 6410 QqQ, but with ions with larger masses. The trouble was in nebulizer needle, after heavy cleaning and depth adjustment, autotune was without errors. The primary err was: "Adjust mass axis failed: delta is outside the tolerance level". The second problem was in MS2 freq, that one was ruled by service, just software adjustment via telnet. I'm new to the forum. Hope this helps.
Make sure you are using a fresh and high-quality tune solution appropriate for negative mode tuning. Ensure that the solution is not expired and is stored correctly according to the manufacturer's recommendations. melon playground
You mentioned that cleaning the capillary sometimes helps. Since you've replaced the capillary already, ensure that the new capillary is installed correctly, and there are no leaks or blockages. pizza tower
Contaminants in the ion source or the sample introduction system can disrupt the tuning and calibration process. Regularly clean and maintain the ion source, skimmer cones, and other critical components.
