I have a 5973 that is giving message (Possible bad address or existing lock)(Error -204) after it runs about 15 minutes, either in a sequence or in manual tune.

In the error log there are lines with scwrite temp$ and scquery so that leads me to thing smart card but not sure.

I also am now getting the error (acquire_cu was given a bad CU ID, your ChemStation is now unstable... Shutdown via the Task Manager)

I get that message if I try to Initialize the interface and when trying to launch MSDChemstation now.

When launching the program it sees the IP address for the MS but then says it is locked, does that sound more like a SmartCard problem than LAN Interface?

Well I found a spare computer and reloaded the software on it and made all methods and tune from defaults and it seems to be working. It could have been a corrupt file somewhere or possibly a bad LAN card in the computer.

They say "To err is human - - to really foul up, you need a computer"!
