Hi great people of this forum,

So, I want to be able to detect produced CO2 and hexane from experiments and was wondering what the best GC settings would be.

My current settings results in a combined peak and can't distinguish between CO2 and hexane.

Find below my GC settings

Inlet Temp - 35 0C,
Oven temp 35 OC , equilibration time - 0.25min,

- I see my peak at 1.193 RT regardless of the sample composition (CO2 and hexane) I run.
Detector temp - 120 OC
column - 30m * 320um * 0.25 um

Further questions:
Is it okay to start my inlet at that low a pressure (35 deg C)? or it doesn't matter since its CO2 and hexane?. Plus, I know that my filament wouldn't come on with temperatures below 150 0C, does that really matter in this case since the boiling point of my compounds are below 100 oC

Tried attaching a diagram on here but couldn't figure how yet.

Kind regards,
AJ
