I would like to analyze Freon R12 in the sample and create an own calibration gas standard in STP condition. I just want utilize what we have in the lab instead of buying brand new scotty standard.

We have 100% R12 gas in 30lb bottle.
My goal is to create 10ug/L R12 in 2.1L bottle with 120 PSI with N2.

Volume of 2.1 L bottle at 120 PSI will be 19.2L
192ug of R12 needed in the bottle.
0.13uL of R12 needed (density of R12 is 1490g/L)

Will this method work?

1. Evacuate and purge the 2.1 L bottle few times with N2 gas.
2. Evacuate the 2.1 L bottle.
3. Measure 0.13uL of R12 from 30 lb bottle and inject into 2.1 L bottle.
4. Pressure 2.1 L bottle up to 120 PSI with UHP nitrogen.

My question is can I use liquid density or I have to use vapor density.

Please let me know if this method works.

Thank you
