Thanks!
Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Before getting too far, what are you trying to do with them? If you're just looking to manually inject with an FID as your detector it should be pretty doable. If you're looking to add an injector tower and controller or a purge-and-trap it becomes a lot more complicated even with just an FID and if you're wanting to use a Mass Spec detector it becomes vastly more difficult.

My 5890-FID uses a Computer with Windows 2000 SP4 and an ISA gpib controller card, and a G1512 controller/7673 injector system though I may hook in a Tekmar 2000 and turn it into an ethanol machine. It isn't that complicated. Once you find a suitable computer and controller card and software you just need the gpib cable.
cable 10833b goes from the 5890 to PC and 3485-2300 (actually that is the number of the connector on the end of the cable it might be a home made cable I think you might want an 10833D) goes from the back side of the cable hooked into the GC to the G1512 autosampler controller which if you don't have a 7673 autosampler you don't need.
