Dear Sir,
Is there any technique to increase the response of 2-Ethoxyethanol as 5ppm in RS/OVI method.

I am getting the low response of above solvent.

In my method total of 9 solvents are there which includes the chlorofrom.

Pl let me know your comments and thanks in advanse.

One needs to have the conditions optimized for the method being used. Which USP method are you using? Or are you using one of your own devising?

You aren't telling us much to assist you. Could you try a little harder?

I guess you are using a FID, cause I got the same results and I guess it's got a bad ionisation in the H2-flame or bad detection by the detector itself.
Wide and low peaks, no good peak characteristics, I remember.
Maybe you can try a standard addition with the Ethandiol, but I've never tried.

2-ethoxyethanol will give a good signal on an FID. Wide and low peaks are a chromatography issue, not a detector issue. This solvent is very water soluble, so if you are using headspace the recovery will be low. This is a compound done better by direct injection or full evaporation headspace.
