We want to detect low ppm levels of benzene with a PID in a refinery setting. A competitor offers a unit with a heated / temperature controlled device they call a "detector tube" that takes 4.2 seconds to get benzene to the PID. We believe it is a column but the product does not require any carrier gas. It uses charcoal filtered air to zero the PID prior to sample introduction to the "detector tube".

We are looking for a consultant to assist in designing a sample system for separating benzene from other "BTEX" VOC's so our PID sensor's output will represent benzene when we read its' signal. Please email inquiries rcarter2@rcsystemsco.com. Thank you.
