Hi all

I am running a GC IRMS, Agilent 7890B into an Isoprime 100 IRMS, the inlet system is using a Gerstel MPS into a Gerstel CIS4 inlet (PTV), analysing natural gas samples. The GC is running a 5 split, Injection volumes are typically 50-500ul.

I have switched from running pyrolysis to combustion and in the process i have snapped the GC column. Now when i run samples i am getting what appears to be a pressure peak eluting prior to the methane peak. This peak varies depending on the size of the injection which is put on the system. I have monitored the pressure during the injection and i get a drop in pressure which is proportional to the injection volume. I have been in contact with the IRMS engineers and they think that the issue is at the gas inlet side of things.

I have re trimmed the column and tried a new ferruel at the inlet, but alas i am still getting the peak eluting.
