Shimadzu preamp

Hello all. I was curious if anyone has had any experience with the shimadzu 7b preamp. I will be using it to "boost" my signal on a 8a tcd with helium carrier. I just recently learned of the preamps existence and was hoping someone has had some experience with one.

I'm not sure if it doesn't sound daft, we have a GC8A with integrator and a control box, looks like this

is that it underneatht the GC??
Where can I buy the kit they use in CSI?
