I am currently working at a university, where we are in the process of setting up an older Varian Saturn 2000 GC-MS instrument. Everything seems to be going well, except for the database search functionality. The probabilities I am obtaining from the NIST Software are consistently below 50%, often even lower than 30%.
As a result, I am curious about the EI-energy settings. However, I am unable to locate a specific menu option for this in the software. I have also reviewed the manual but couldn't find any reference to terms such as "EI-Energy" or "Ionisation Energy."
The ionisation energy for EI ionization should be around 70 eV. Unfortunately, I cannot find this value anywhere. The only related parameter I can locate is the "Ionisation Current."
Could someone provide assistance or guidance on this matter? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
