Hi there
I am developing a HS-SPME GC-MS method for smoke taint. I can get a linear/repeatable cal curve for o/m/p- cresol, Guaicol, 4Me-Guaicol, 4Me Syringol but syringol doesn't show a linear peak as at lower conc (2ug/L) I can't accurately quantitate it (high bp). I can't find anything literature for HS-SPME of this compound (only LLE). There is a Thermo application but it has not been optimized for syringol ( it uses 80C extraction temp!!)
I really appreciate if anyone who has any experience.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Can you further describe your sample and sampling conditions? Is it just water? What SPME fiber? Temperatures and times?

Did you see this:

40 °C is kind of a low temperature in my opinion but they apparently got it to work.
