Hello, I recently purchased this GC and there is this stainless steel column inline with the sample loop input (not the filter to the left, the thing in the middle). I checked and it is connected to the flow but it just vents to the atmosphere so I would think that something goes into it to take a sample?. Thanks for any help!

Guessing - is it something that could hold a septum for introducing a gas sample that way?
