Hello,

I have food sample which is in form of powder. I want to analyse the amino acid profile in this food sample. For protein hydrolysis via 6N HCL,

1. how can I create oxygen free environment in the reaction tube?
2. can I use reflux system for hydrolysis because it involves 110℃ for 20-24h?
1. how can I create oxygen free environment in the reaction tube? Use a Firestone valve, or similar device

2. can I use reflux system for hydrolysis because it involves 110℃ for 20-24h? No. Depending on the protein, you'll experience excessive degradation. Protein hydrolysis is usually done in a sealed tube.
