Hi,
I wish to recover the bottom layer of dichloromethane in i glasstube, without contaminats from upper water layer. The volume is around 1.5ml. My guess is that a custom made hamilton syringe with long needle would be best. Normal needle length 50mm was to short. Pasture pipetts dont work for volatile solvents vapor pressure. Plan is to order custom made hamilton syringe since i like the current test tubes.

It should be a common procedure so I am sure someone has found good solution. Please share it?
Thanks!
Solved
I got an adapter to fit peek tubing to hamilton syringe. I can cut tubing to size and this works fine.
I've done the Bligh and Dyer method for lipid extraction routinely for many years. I've never used anything other than a Pasteur pipet to collect the lower layer, and have never even considered a need to do it any other way.
