Anyone seen this before?

Running a Phenomenex column last night on the instrument and it looks like the tan/grey PEEK at the tip of the Viper fitting came off. The PEEK tip is now lodged in the column inlet.
Never had this issue with any other manufacturers column.
Anyone else observed this issue? More importantly, anyone found a fix?
Fix? seriously, do not use Viper fittings. We hate them and do not recommend them at all. Poor value, poorly made. IDEX sells some nice universal ones instead.
You can try this: get a small jeweller's screwdriver (with the shaft narrower than 1/16", obviously). Using an insulated glove, hold the tip and shaft in contact with a hot plate to get it good and hot, then rapidly shove it into the fitting. Hopefully, the tip will be hot enough to melt its way into the tip. Wait a minute or so and then carefully use the screwdriver to twist the ferrule loose enough to get it out.

No guarantee here; I've done this sort of thing to remove the stub of a PEEK fitting, but that was larger, and had threads so it could be unscrewed.

The dental tools that Restek sells to remove GC ferrules might work also. They are sharp screw threaded tapered probes that you can screw into the soft ferrule material and then wiggle it and work it loose.

For more difficult removals I keep as set of these around too.
