Viscosity and priming

(debate at work) Why are lower viscosity solvents preferred when priming the systems (after buffer was washed out). Are they somehow better at removing air bubbles?

I'm guessing the answer is simple, I just don't see it.

Possibly because the higher viscosity liquids stick to and clog up the check valves on HPLCs and UPLCs quicker than lower viscosity ones?
