:| Hi There

How to access into "Other Test" mode once Waters Alliance Model 2695 Initializing Suspended upon Carousel Z Axis malfunction (2) error

Sometimes it gives Carousel Z Axis Malfunction (4)

However Carrier trays moves on startup but once the Carousel Dog Pin attempts to hold the tray the Error appears.

All sensors are okay we physically checked by putting papers in between and saw the LED`s on CPU .

Can somebody help???

Thanks

Tayyeb

are you cooling the sample room?

I don't remember if it was this fault, but we once had issues when we cooled down the sample room.

The issue was that with the reduced height, caused of the cooled materials, the magnetic force wasn't enough to properly identify the tray.

It was solved by leveling up the metalic bottom (about 0.5-1 mm) with some stripes of tape from underneat.

Thanks a lot for a little push . Could u explain us more What is under neat means. You mean the whole assembly bottom surface ???
We did tried to adjust by Z Axis three mounted screws but iit tends to gives several error messages which we understand we are nearing to the issue but no resolved.
Yes we DISABLED Sample Heater Cooler for the time being. Your further input may help us

Best regardz and thanx again
Merry XMas to you all.

if you remove the middle part of front panel and the carousel carrier, you should be able to remove the stainless steel plate (on which the carousel trays sit).

then put something under this plate (like some stripes of tape or maybe some sheets of thin carton; maybe about 0.5-1 mm?) put the steel plate back and reassemble the carrier and front panel.

Goal is to lift the trays just a bit, so that the magnetic sensor can sense the magnets of the trays again.

Other hint's, just guesses:
As a first try to see if this is really the issue, maybe put some small piece of magnetic foil on top of the magent position of each tray (make sure it stays on the tray and is not too thick).
Or if you have newer trays with newer (stronger) magnets on them, try with them (thought: slight fading of the magentic field of the magnets during time, maybe if the trays were dropped several times or by temperature changes).

My best wishes to you on New Year.
Thanx a lot for this help.V r at stage where Carousel moves, identify and v somehow get succeeds to go into IDLE mode by intercepting Z Axis sensor during the critical movement of Carousel carrier. When we performs Carousel test by OTHER TEST it rotates and comes to Tray E 118 Vial which is recommended for default tests , it hampers the tray carrier and DogPin slight touches the tray sometimes appears with Z Axis 2 error or Carousel Carrier error.

We tried to set the .5 / 1 mm settings of Z Axis and vials too in Service Utilities page but it never sets and problem remains almost same. Again we do some interception in Z Axis Three screw plate photo sensor for error removal.
Can you see now and inform us the catchy settings in this stage.
Actually we hv 3 Alliance suffered with same obvious behavior. Whole assembly replacement is too costly bcoz Waters provide new assembly type with upgrade for 2695 kit too. Which is expensive a lot for our couple of 2690 Alliance units. Yes in 2695 Alliance i will apply your instruction today.
Thanks for the help
Merry Xmas

Good NewYear to you too.

Sorry to say but now I have to "surrend" from help.
I'm not that deep into your settings and descriptions.
Also our issue was quite some years ago, so I don't remeber the exact error description.
Also I'm not sure if my hints will be applicable to your problem at all. It's just what once happened to us and was resolved like that.

Did you try to set both + and - numbers for the Z-axis (if posible?). Could be that + means it's more up from the tray, making the issue even worse, or vice versa.
And nor sure to which Z-axis this setting is related to. Is it related to the needle (for corrections when using vial inserts) or is it the Z-axis of the tray movement...?

And some other input, even if I think it should not be related to your issues, but who knows...:
How old is the lithium battery on the mainboard (CR20xx)?
I was once told, that at least the piston motor take some reference voltage from that battery. So if the battery got too old, the pressure ripple could start to increase or so.
If you change the battery, do it while the system is powered on, not to lose some settings on the board.

Many Thanks .It is Tray Movement and then Dogpin parking stage in carousel. Somehow we get critical movement once it about to force the carousel to get in IDLE state. But cant understand what is the basic cause. Slight screw settings either on Z Axis it gives Error, 4, or 2 but we r working on HIT n TRying our luck.
Thanx again for your service tips it helped us a bit to locate the issue.
God bless you
