What is the Difference Between C18 and C18 (2) HPLC Column?
Marketing and Sales BS!
Not True. While most column marketing is BS (like just about every other product), the # designation after ODS usually refers to the silica type. ODS (1) was the original silica type; ODS(2) was a metal free cleaner version (less tailng and need for additives and ODS (3) is the latest version.
Actually, ODS1 is partially endcapped while ODS2 is fully endcapped [NOTE: "ODS" is short for octadecylsilane, = "C-18"]
