Connecting a Varian ProStar autosampler

Hi all!
I am in the process of adding an autosampler to my Varian HPLC system (230 SDM and 310 UV-Vis) which are connected with a GPIB connection. Can someone take a pic of a connection between a Varian Prostar autosampler (400, 410, 420, 430) and the PC running Star workstation software. The manual says that it should be connected by a serial DB9 cable from the autosampler to a RS 232/485 converter which is plugged in a COMM port on the PC. I have neither and trying to either buy it or make it.
Any help appreciated...
