Want to trade a 1260 HPLC System for our 1290 UPLC?

Serious offer: we have an Agilent 1290 UPLC system, and the manager would like us to see if anyone would like to trade their Agilent 1260 HPLC for it, even up. He says we have no business need for the UPLC system as our production facilities only have HPLC. Thanks.

Nope, no joke. This is a legitimate offer, even-up trade. The 1260 HPLC must be in operable condition; the 1290 UPLC is.

Basically, the manager wants to do this so we have all 1260 units for our cGMP and GLP work; our production facilities do not have UPLC so any UPLC work would be confined to our work here. So he looks at this as better efficiency for our R&D lab too, to have all units the same.
Can you not run under ISET the 1290 as a 1260? The it behaves like a 1260.

I don't know what ISET is, and I don't run the 1290. The manager agrees that the 1290 can function like a 1260, but says for that usage the 1290 maintenance/cGMP qualification is higher, so he wants to go 1260 instead for lower yearly costs since we don't need 1290 capacity. The 1290 is a nice unit for someone who does UPLC.
