Hello All,

A universal detector is any analysts dream. We are using RI in our lab successfully but it does have its limitations such as no gradient and poor sensitivity, of course.

I recently learned about about an FID detector (Solvere) for HPLC that functions like a methanizer after evaporation of the mobile phase. It is an analog to the Polyarc for GC.

Has anyone used it? I would live to learn about your experience and drawbacks to consider.

Have you investigated ELSD ?
Hi Consumer Products Guy,

yes, we have investigated this detector. We have ELSD and CAD in our lab and do use it from time to time but linearity is important to us. Thanks for the pointer anyway.
