Hello all,

I am new to this forum and already happy to be here - what a wealth of information!

I run a small R&D lab carrying out supercritical fluid extraction of natural products (herbs, spices, food industry by-products) and am looking to pack my own analytical HPLC columns. It is a skill I am adamant about learning considering the prices for pre-packed columns are through the roof in my country thanks to distributor profit margins.

I have searched and found various impressively simple systems for HPLC column packing. I understand that a slurry of packing material with the correct solvent needs to be prepared and preferably sonicated (to ensure a uniform distribution of particles?) prior to packing from a slurry reservoir at a high pressure up several thousand psi via a liquid pump. Trouble is that my background is mainly in gas chromatography, and even with the information available from various publications and on this forum, it would take an unrealistic amount of time to figure this out myself.

Could anyone direct me to companies that provide this sort of training and part lists off-site (e.g. online training), or to some resources which could get me started?

EDIT: Found HELIX Chromatography (https://helixchrom.com)!
Hello dkoseoglu,

I've copied a thread about a similar topic here for you! One of the major contributors works at Helix and is a very active member of this forum. You may be able to reach out to them and ask for some advice.

I cannot speak for how well they work, but Restek (branded from Teledyne or vice versa?) sells this:

Here is Teledyne's:
