Dear Experts,

When using Waters Empower Software to run calibration curve using standards, Empower will ask me the unit. I type in µg/mL, Empower does not take it. I have to either type <µg/mL or <>µg/mL to continue.

May I ask will the brackets make a difference in the processing step?

Thanks.
This is a known feature in Empower software, that you need to put in < before the units. It doesn't affect anything when processing, it seems to be a legacy issue with the software.
I have never heard of that problem. I thought it was just a nominal field. You could label the unit bananas for example?
Yes. <Bananas, <Fortnights per furlong, whatever you like.
The "<" is just needed to tag whatever follows as a text string, I think. It's probably some ancient Oracle foible that has persisted through the Empower front end for far longer than needed.
Thanks,
DR
