I have a 5973 with a non functioning Lcd screen and do not know the assigned IP address so Chemstation cannot see it to load the instrument top. Also have used the Agilent communications software to try and see if it would detect the MSD and it doesn't even see my 6890GC. Basically I need some ideas on how to find out what the IP address of the MSD without the use of the LCD screen and the Agilent software. Any help is appreciated
open a command window on the attached PC and enter
ipconfig/ all

That should show you IP addresses for everything attached.
The other option is to get into your network and internet settings on the PC and see what the properties of each ethernet adapter are. You're interested in IPv4 addresses. Most Agilent devices use lots of 10s and 100s in their addresses.
Thanks,
DR
