According to the Decision 2002/657/EC the Decision limit for substances with established permitted limit should be: “The corresponding concentration at the permitted limit plus 1,64 times the standard deviation of the within-laboratory reproducibility equals the decision limit (α = 5 %)”

What is the meaning of “standard deviation of the within-laboratory reproducibility”?

1. The standard deviation of concentration obtained with the reproducibility study samples
2. The standard deviation of obtained recoveries with the reproducibility study samples
3. The relative standard deviation of the reproducibility
4. Something different

I will really appreciate if somebody could clarify this for me….I have check the ISO 11843, different EU guideline and scientific articles but I found a lot of discrepancy between the information.
