Anyone ever used acetylacetone as mobile phase aditive to avoid tailing?
Nope. Acetylacetone is used as an akylating agent (if I recall my organic chemistry from >40 years ago). This means it will react with your sample matrix, column, mobile phase...
Acetylacetone is used as a volatile complexing agent. EDTA just won't evaporate.
I don't remember any reactivity issues with it but my experience was limited to metal complex prep.
