I am currently in the first year of my PhD and trying to set up an HPLC method for the analysis of phosphonate scale inhibitors. The method was previously developed a few years ago by a member of staff who is no longer here and although the method works ok I am a bit confused as to why the column used was chosen.
The method uses a Dionex AS11-HC column which is designed for the analysis of anions, however I am analysing scale inhibitors. Does this seem odd to anyone? Why would such a column be chosen?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
